The discipline of Mathematics and Computer Science has become inevitable to understand, analyze, model and solve the complex problems of today's business and social life, which develop and change as a result of globalization. From this point of view, the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science raises individuals who want to gain knowledge in the field of mathematics and informatics which are among the basic dynamics of technology and finance sector; who believe that numbers and technology are important forces to solve the complex structure of professional and social life; who aim to improve their ability to analyze, model and produce solutions under the guidance of a strong and internationally recognized academic staff.

During the four-year undergraduate program, basic mathematics and contemporary programming languages are taught in the first two years, and in the last two years of their education, students are given elective courses in mathematics and computer science. In addition to undergraduate education, the Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences offers graduate program in Mathematics and Computer Sciences, and doctorate programs in Mathematics. 

Students of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, are provided with the opportunity to become exchange students  for one or two semesters (between 3-12 months) in an academic year within the Erasmus program at Stuttgart University, Germany Technological and Educational Institute (TEI) of Thessaly, Greece 1 Decembrie 1918" University of Alba Iulia, Romania and receive financial support during their stay abroad within the scope of the program.

Graduates of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science can work in the information processing and planning departments of public and private institutions; in companies specialized in programming, system analysis, technical support, web design and software; in the fields of banking and insurance; in stock exchange, finance and capital market intermediary institutions; in companies that need experts in the field of statistics; or in universities as academicians. In addition, our graduates can take the pedagogical formation training given in our University and work as mathematics teachers or computer teachers in public or private schools.
