Istanbul Kültür University Department of Mathematics and Computer Science was first accredited between 2012-2017 as a result of the evaluation made by FEDEK. Our Department, which was re-evaluated by FEDEK in 2021, was given another 2-year accreditation, valid between 2021-2023. Then, as a result of the FEDEK accreditation interim evaluation visit, which took place between 14-16 April 2024, 3 more years were added to the current 2-year accreditation period and completed the accreditation period to 5 years, which is the maximum accreditation period.

Revealing the qualifications of the education given in the higher education process with the principle of transparency and reliability emerges as a result of the Bologna process. In this dynamic process, the evaluation of the components of the educational programs and the methods used to reach the determined targets by independent organizations and repeating this evaluation periodically is great importance in terms of improving the quality of education, training, research activities and administrative services. Quality assurance is a requirement for universities to fulfill their basic functions such as education and academic productivity in a qualified way and to be able to integrate with the European Union. Quality assurance in education is only possible through the use of evaluation and accreditation methods that universities will adopt. National and international accreditation should be considered not only as a goal to achieve quality assurance, but also as a means to identify the changes necessary to capture and protect contemporary education.

FEDEK is recognized as a national quality assurance organization by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) received “Quality Assessment Registration Certificate”, an evaluation and accreditation association which has been given the authority to accredit Higher Education Institutions' Faculties of Science, Literature, Science-Letters, Language and History-Geography.
