In cooperation with the Mathematics-Computer Club and the Turkish Mathematics Club, a "Mathematics Day" event was organized in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus on Thursday, March 14. The event, which is held every year on March 14 to celebrate "World Mathematics Day" and keep mathematics significant, was hosted by Istanbul Kültür University this year.
"Mathematics Day" started with the opening speeches of our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe and club presidents at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center. Head of Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences Prof. Dr. Mert Çağlar made his speech on the theme of "Play with Mathematics".
Next; Prof. Dr. Tınaz Ekim from Boğaziçi University "Graph Theory with Games", Soner Sezgin from Istanbul University "Theory of Everything: Probability", Assist. Prof. Özer Öztürk from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University "Mathematics, Creativity and Game", Mathematics Teacher Vural Aksunkur "Mathematics History and Development" made their speeches.
Additionally, a panel talk was held under the moderation of Assoc. Prof. Emre Ev Çimen from Eskişehir Osmangazi University with the participation of Assoc. Prof. Serkan Özel from Boğaziçi University, Elif Bahadır from Yıldız Technical University and Res. Assist. Dr. Emine Gülen Ulusoy from Marmara University. Within the scope of "Mathematics Day", Various sponsors' stands were opened on the B1 floor of the Ataköy building and entertaining events were held. An origami and cryptology corner was set up in the backyard and various workshops were held.
